This month, I have decided to tackle Angie’s 11 questions you should ask before hiring a housekeeper. Please keep in mind that we may need to revisit some of the answers to these questions as we grow and expand, but for now, this is where we are at.

The questions may be found here:

For the purpose of this blog/month, we will break the 11 questions into 3 parts.

Part 2

4. Do you carry worker’s compensation?

Our insurance policy covers injuries sustained on the job, but we do not offer a formal worker’s compensation plan at this time. Our cleaners are contracted to clean. We have found that through using contracted cleaners, we are able to offer the maximum pay and flexibility to the girls and guys who work so hard in our name.

When we move to a “employee structured” system (plans are still in the works) we will create a worker’s compensation plan.

I (Courtney) feel very strongly about creating a company culture that puts our cleaners first and acknowledges the hard work they do. I strongly desire to create rewards and incentives designed to reveal my deep appreciation to the men and women who serve Miss is Clean and assist to build it! A company isn’t worth a lot without it’s employees.

5. Do you bring equipment and cleaning supplies?

We offer to bring our own supplies but you are more than welcome to supply a product if you have a preference.

We use contracted cleaners, so they are required to choose and provide their own products. You may find that different cleaners use different techniques and supplies while cleaning. We are willing to use both “hard working” products and “environmentally friendly products”.

I am personally not a fan of environmentally friendly products on the job because I don’t think they do as good of a job for clients who use us infrequently. If we are cleaning on a weekly or bimonthly basis, natural cleaning products will usually suffice but if we are coming less frequent, traditional products may be needed in order to attain the results we promise.

6. Do you have a satisfaction guarantee?

We feel very strongly about providing a service that surpasses your expectations! We want to be your choice cleaner.

Having said that, there are outliers. We typically get clients who want a high level of detail and that is exactly what we specialize in. From time to time, we may get a client who cannot be satisfied no matter how much we try… in those cases, we have no problem encouraging them to try a competitive company and have a long list of referrals. We do not refer to clients who are disrespectful, deceitful, abusive, or rude though.

So, yes, we guarantee satisfaction but we aren’t doormats.

7. How will you gain access to my home?

How will we gain access to your home?

Some clients will give us their garage codes, they’ll hide a key, use a lockbox, or they will meet us at their house. We keep security information confidential and require all of our cleaners to sign a non disclosure agreement as part of their contract.
